Firecrackers Crackers: The Fiery Snack You’ll Crave

Spicy, savory, and wildly snackable, these firecracker crackers lean on a simple toss-and-rest method to coat Absolutely Gluten Free crackers in a bold ranch-chile glaze. Minimal dishes, maximum flavor, and an optional low bake locks in extra crunch.

What is a Fire Cracker?

More commonly known as Alabama fire crackers, they’re saltine-style crackers marinated in seasoned oil (often with ranch and red pepper flakes), then served as-is or briefly baked until toasty. This firecracker recipe uses gluten-free crackers for a crisp base that holds spice and stays crunchy on snack boards.

Do I Have to Bake Firecrackers or Not?

Some recipes include an additional baking step. But you can try our no-bake firecracker crackers, which are easier to make and require no baking at all. If you do prefer an extra crispy finish, bake at 250°F for 10-15 minutes after marinating. An overnight rest gives the boldest flavor, though 2 to 4 hours still works in a pinch.

Firecracker Crackers Recipe Variations You Must Know

Adjust the heat (more or fewer flakes), swap in smoked paprika or chipotle, or add lemon zest for brightness. And if you prefer a lighter ranch? Use half the packet. Stir in poppy or sesame seeds, dried chives, or a little honey for sweet-heat.

How To Serve and Store Firecrackers

Pair with cooling dips (ranch, blue cheese, herbed yogurt), sharp cheddar, or charcuterie. Pack into jars for gifting or game day. Store airtight at room temperature up to 1 week (baked or unbaked versions). Stir or toss before serving to redistribute seasoning.
