1/2 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. of garlic powder
1 tsp. of onion powder
1 tsp. of dried oregano
1 tsp. of Kosher salt
1 large egg, beaten
1/3 C. Panko-style breadcrumbs

Directions:

  • Pre-heat oven to 350F
  • Add the first 8 ingredients in a large bowl and mix with your hand until fully combined.

Cheeseburger Bites Appetizer Pairing Suggestions

Sip crisp pilsners, light lagers, or cola‑style mocktails to cut through the savory bite. Add skinny fries or sweet‑potato wedges, a sharp dill slaw, or a simple green salad. For a playful board, set out ranch and special sauce alongside warm fried pickles for extra crunch.

Tips for Making Ahead and Storing

  • Prep ahead (up to 24 hours): Stack without the top cracker; cover and refrigerate. Add tops and sesame just before baking for the best crunch.
  • Store leftovers: Cool completely. Refrigerate in a shallow, airtight container for up to 2 days; keep crackers separate from dips.
  • Reheat: Bake on a wire‑rack‑lined sheet at 350°F (175°C) for 6–8 minutes to re‑crisp crackers and warm centers. Avoid microwaving—it softens the crunch.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What appetizers go with cheeseburgers?

Hearty, salty‑crisp sides pair best: fried pickles, potato wedges, onion rings, or mozzarella sticks. Balance the richness with a bright dill slaw or crunchy veggies and ranch. Offer ketchup, mustard, and a house sauce so guests can mix and match flavors.

What is a good starter for burgers?

Anything tangy or crunchy wakes up the palate before a rich bite—think fried pickles, dill slaw cups, or cherry tomatoes stuffed with herbed cheese. Chips and guac work, too. Keep servings small so guests have room for the mains.

Can I assemble these in advance for a party?

Yes. Stack the seasoned beef and cheese between crackers up to 24 hours ahead, but wait to add the top cracker and sesame until just before baking. Bake close to serving time, then hold on a wire rack for a few minutes to keep the crackers crisp.
